Missendai, played by actress Nathalie Joanne Emmanuel, is one of the most acclaimed characters, who earned the effective screen act in just a few episodes. At first glance, anyone could take her to be a British; however, when I tried to portray her on the canvas, I found her features resembling the Caucasian background. To describe her wheatish complexion, it won’t be unjust to tell her an African American. The charm and the intelligence that she shelters in her character are unrivaled.

After about 12 years of pencil portrait drawing practice I have come up with an easy technique to draw face from photo and from real life, which you will find in my course – Realistic face drawing
 Description of her face
Let’s analyze her face measurements so that we can portray accurate features on a canvas. Her face is pretty elongated, and why I say so, you would know eventually. If you read the length of her forehead, there is a wide gap between the hairline and the eyebrow which makes it quite lengthy as compared to others. The distance between her cheekbone and jawline is a bit extended. Going down the face, I find the jawline running straight until the chin. The jaw is neither sharp nor round but flat; you can’t categorize it into a U or V shape. For now, you might find my reading going over your head, but once you get deeper into face study, you will become a pro at it.

Her eyes and nose
She has God gifted thick eyebrows that don’t need makeup to intensify beauty. If compared on a scale of small, big and average, she has got a big iris. I want to state here that for her face, the size of eyes is averagely big. Her nose is neither too long nor too short; the length of nose fits adequately right on the face. However, her nose tip is moderately round, big and cute looking. The extension of the nose tip and nosewings align perfectly in a straight horizontal line.

Her lips
She has a slightly bulged cupids bow on her lips. Generally, the lower lip is found pulpier and more massive than the upper lip. But the opposite is the case with the person in the painting. It comes from a thumb sucking habit developed in childhood that leaves permanent heavier upper lips in a child. If we take a look at celebrities, such as Priyanka Chopra, Angelina Jolie, and Scarlett Johansson, the features of her lips tie with theirs.

Cheekbones
I couldn’t project the features of her cheeks in this picture as the face wears no smile. Once the toddlerhood settles and we step in the teenage, the cheekbones start getting prominent. Similarly, in this case, I couldn’t bring the look of her projected chin. It happens when we smile or laugh, the skin around chin and cheeks shift up to make them look more noticeable. Most models and actresses focus on the chin and cheekbones parts mainly to maintain their long-lasting beauty.

Her Skin
She has a vibrant color possessed on her skin. In some views, you can find it fair, whereas in some other too wheatishly fair. And that’s what prompted me to take her as a Caucasian. I will stand on point to not call her American. I have a regular close-up experience with Americans; they’ve very fair skin which reflects a lot of light.

You might find my analysis counteracting your observation. But once you sway in the direction I lead you to, you will discover the face reading rhyming with that of mine.
